Properties of surface finishing

Type:                                  it shows the finishing type. It can be: flowline, pocketing, constant Z, scallop, projection.

Sinking:                              it shows the depth the piece can be machined at starting from the maximum Z. If this value is higher than the piece dimension it is machined completely otherwise it is machined up to the specified dimension.

Cordal E.:                            cordal error is the tolerance coefficient which has to be applied on the surface of the piece during surface finishing..

Optimize:                  if enabled it optimizes the machining passes avoiding passing with the tool path over already machined areas.

Advanced properties.

Lead in:                              it specifies the lead-in type that the tool executes when approaching the piece. It is taken into account only in kits with flowline milling cutter; it can take on the following values:

vertical:                                  the lead-in is executed vertically;

tangent:                                 the lead-in is executed with a length straight line (Lead-in Length) that is tangent to the path lead-in point;

Milling cutter dir.:                 the lead-in is executed with a length straight line (Lead-in Length) that has the same direction of the milling cutter direction;

perpendicular:                        the lead-in is executed with a length straight line (Lead-in Length) that is perpendicular to the pass

Length entry:                     it specifies the distance where the tool is before approaching the piece and starting machining.

Lead in:                              it specifies the lead-in type that the tool executes when approaching the piece. It is taken into account only in kits with flowline milling cutter; it can take on the following values:

direct:                           a geometry is inserted that traces the shape of the surface and connects the passes;

tangent:                       the lead-in is executed with a length straight line (Lead-in Length) that is tangent to the path lead-in point;

Dir Router:                   it exits with a straight line with lenght (Connection Lenght) that has the same direction of the router and connects to the next pass in the same way.

perpendicular:             the lead-in is executed with a length straight line (Lead-in Length) that is perpendicular to the pass.

vertical:                        it exits with a vertical straight line with lenght (Connection Lenght) and connects to the next pass in the same way.

Lenght Link:                       it shows the leght of the link between two contiguous passes; if there’s a direct link this parametre is not considered.

Lead-out:                           it specifies the lead-out type that the tool executes when going out of the piece. It is taken into account only in kits with flowline milling cutter; it can take on the following values:

vertical:                        the lead-out is executed vertically;

tangent:                       the lead-out is executed with a lenght straight line (Lead-out Lenght) that is tangent to the path lead-out point;

Dir Router:                   the lead-out is executed with a lenght straight line (Lead-out Lenght) that has got the same direction of the tool;

perpendicular:             the lead-out is executed with a length straight line (Lead-out Length) that is perpendicular to the pass.

Lenght exit:                        it specifies the distance where the tool is before drawing away from the piece.

Direction:                           it indicates the direction of the machining path; it can be longitudinal or transversal with respect to the guide line of the surface. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Movement:                         It can be ZigZag or SingleWay; it indicates whether the passes must be carried out in both directions (ZigZag) or only in one direction (SingleWay).

Division:                             the surface machining can be subdivided into two parts, according to the selection carried out which can be transversal or longitudinal. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Start:                                  it indicates the machining starting point. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Longitudinal Min.:               it is the percentage which the longitudinal surface machining must start from. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Longitudinal Max.:              it is the percentage which the longitudinal surface machining must stop at. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Transversal Min.:                it is the percentage which the transversal surface machining must start from. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Transversal Max.:                it is the percentage which the transversal surface machining must stop at. It is taken into account in the kits with flowline milling cutter.

Direct calculation:               when enabled it forces the program to carry out the calculations relating the machining path at the supplement stage. Otherwise the software does the calculations only when the user selects the Apply command in the machining control.

Angle:                                 it specifies the pass angle of the pocketing path of a single pass. It is taken into account only if the scabbling is carried out in ZigZag, SingleWay or Spiral mode.
